Cool Roofs Indonesia team (to which Milenium Solutions is part of ) sees temperatures decrease by 10
Cool Roofs Indonesia is one of ten Boost Awardees for our Million Cool Roofs Challenge, working in Indonesia. Here, Beta Paramita, an Asst. Professor at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), in collaboration with Millennium Solution, USA to produce MS-Thermashield cool paint in Indonesia. The collaboration also involved Ravi Srinivasan, a Professor at The University of Florid,a to help building energy efficiency analysis and strategies. They tell us more about their approach to scaling up the deployment of sustainable and quality cool roofs, and their experience of the Challenge so far.
" Our project approach centers institutional collaboration, between the university and the municipal government or the ministries. In particular, we are working with the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration of Republic of Indonesia to replicate this project in rural and underdeveloped areas. This approach includes research as well as services to the community. "

Passive cooling success for Cool Roofs Indonesia.
Within the first four months of implementation, Cool Roofs Indonesia, the national team taking on the Million Cool Roofs Challenge, has painted 15,000 m2 of roof area in the city of Tangerang. They have since seen internal temperatures at an industrial building in the city fall by 10.7°C (from 39.7°C to 29°C) after painting the building’s roof with a ‘cool roof’ coating. Read More
Cool Roofs offering a sustainable solution to all South Africans.
As a part of the Million Cool Roofs Challenge, the South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI) is seeing fantastic results from some of their cool roof projects. At a low-cost housing project in the Northern Cape province, where summers are scorching, they’ve seen daytime indoor temperatures fall from above 34°C to 25°C since painting roofs with reflective coatings.
