We are pleased to report that Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), who share with the University of Florida and our company Milenium Solutions, The Million Cool Roof challenge award, is preparing to establish a testing and energy center at UPI and proposes to make sustainable prefabricated low-income housing for developing countries.
On August 27th of this year, Jay Cruz is invited by UPI University, at their Global Warming mitigation meeting: "Collaborative Action on Climate Change Education."
This program is organized in collaboration with the Architecture Study Program, University of Education Indonesia sponsored by BeCool Indonesia through a grant from the Climateworks Foundation, USA.
The CRRC annual membership meeting on June 15, 2022, was a great experience for our small company, as we had the opportunity to meet with many knowledgeable members on cool roofs. The CRRC invited Mr. Jay Cruz, who is part of the winning team of The Million Cool Roofs Challenge, to present at the CRRC annual membership meeting on June 15, 2022, the results of the projects completed during the challenge and the new cool roof technology he has been developing under the Enviroecoats brand. We stand ready to assist in the CRRC's commitment to growing cool roofs in the United States.
On April 2nd we received the results of the ASTM E84 - Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials (Equivalent to UL 723, NFPA 255, UBC 8-1) test on MS-Fireshield, and it was classified as Class A Fireproof Coating. ASTM E84 TEST RESULTS: FLAME SPREAD: 0 of 25 SMOKE DEVELOPED: 20 out of 450.
The Challenge is an initiative of the Clean Cooling Collaborative (formerly K-CEP), the Global Cool Cities Alliance, Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) and Nesta Challenges, which awarded $125,000 grants to 10 teams around the world to test different approaches and models for scaling up cool roofs in their countries. The team that demonstrated the most effective, sustainable and scalable model to stimulate rapid deployment of cool roofs would win the Challenge's final prize of $750,000. Team Cool Roofs Indonesia is a partnership of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), the municipality of Tangerang, the University of Florida and Milenium Solutions USA. During the Challenge, The team installed cool roofs using the MS-Thermashield product on 70 buildings in 15 cities in Indonesia, including 36 low-cost housing units, 10 schools, two factories and an orphanage.
